data show that, at the same time
asthma problems have been
increasing, ozone and other air
pollutants have been decreasing.
Thus, air pollution can not be the
cause of increased asthma.
“One of EPA’s proposals would
require states and local govern

controls for particulates (dust and
other microscopic particles); the
other would impose stricter regula
tions on emissions that contribute
to ozone (smog).

ments made by Barr and Ross.

effective in cleaning air, and that
