freeze caught ungrazed wheat in the boot
stage. On the positive side last weeks rains
provided 2-3 inches of moisture for spring
pastures. Quality of supply average. Feeder
cattle in medium to slightly fleshly condi
tions, end fleshy. Weigh-ups mostly aver
age. Slaughter cows and bulls firm, except
Breaker cows .75 lower. Packer demand
moderate to good. Demand good for thin
cows headed to graze-out after last week's
freezing temperatures took its toll on
wheat Total of 300 cows and bulls sold
with 60 percent going to packers. Receipts
this week 8,900; last week 7,920; last year
8,951. Supply consisted of 83 percent year
lings over 600 lbs; 14 percent calves and
light yearlings under 600 lbs; 3 percent
cows and bulls. Prices follow with weight
ed average weight and price in parenthesis.
