Checkers Restaurant and Pub of
Ephrata will save food in the
kitchen.
Werner and Debrah Moismann,
500 Blantz Rd. Lititz, will open
their bed and breakfast inn called
Swiss Woods, which earned a 3
diamond AAA rating. Both the
exterior architecture and the lux
urious indoor rooms were inspired
by the backgrounds of Werner and
Debrah, who met in Austria, mar
ried in Debrah’s Lancaster County
home, and spent the early part of
their marriage in Werner’s native
Switzerland.
Werner helped Debrah’s father,
Paul Neff, hand carve the mantle in
the Anker Stube (the Common
Room). Werner’s special talent is
found in the profusion of flowers
surrounding the inn. A vast array
of spring flowers and flowering

which they grow.
Debrah’s degree in home eco
nomics helped her develope
recipes for breakfast foods. Some
of these will be served during the
tour. Miijam. the eldest daughter
and one of four children, will pro
vide violin music while friends
accompany with clarinet and flute.
The 10th annual tour offers a
kaleidoscope of decorating and
food ideas. In addition to each
owners own decor, a local floral
designer has been assigned to each
home to add finishing touches.
A limited amount of tickets are
available and should be ordered in
advance. Tickets per person
(including children) arc $8 in
advance and $9 on the day of the
Goat Field Day
YORK (York* Co.) There
will be a special, informative Goat
Field Day on Saturday, April 26.
This field day will be held at the
York 4-H Center located at Bair
Station, York. Special activities
will take place from 9 to 4.
Raising goats has become
popular with children and adults
as well. This field day will stress
the importance of quality-care of
goats as well as demonos trating
useful foods and products ob
tained from these special animals.
Featured speakers, starting at
9:20 a.m., will be Dr. Kay Wag
ner, D.V.M., discussing and
demonstrating immunizations and
medications. At 11:20, Dr. Bob
Hot, D.V.M. will be talking about
meat goats. Dr. Ray Boston,

On the day of the tour, tickets
should be picked up at the Ephrata
Church of the Brethren. Arts,
crafts, and refreshments will be on
sale. Restroom facilities arc not
available at any other stop on the
tour other than the church. In the
sanctuary, Rev. Mark Herr, minis
ter of Christian education and
youth, will be playing 15-minute
organ recitals at 10 a.m., noon, and
2 p.m.
Jim Hummel, florist of Gross
man Rower Shop will decorate the
church sanctuary.

D.V.M., from The New Bolton
Center will be speaking at 1 p.m.
At 3 p.m.. Dr. Alan Schoey will be
speaking on the aspect of nutri
tion.
The members of the Kiddin’
Around 4-H Club will be there
with a variety of breeds of goats.
Each member will be answering
questions and giving information
about their specific goat.
In addition, cheesemaking, mo
hair spinning, goat manure com
posting, and goat care will be
demonstrated.
On sale will be goat supplies
and crafts. Lunch will be avail
able, including goat chili, goat
milk fudge, and goat milk.
