Demand flowed and wai light; moit taiy
en had commitment! through March. Fro
zen product floor itockf were adequate.
Shell egg luppliei were adequate in the
Northeast, and adequate to fhort in the
Southeast. Plant! ran mixed tchednlei
from full to pan-time bated on shell egg
supplies and shipping needs. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the East
for the week ending January 25,1997 were
4% lets than last week, and 17% more than
the same week last year.

Prices were unchanged. The maricet tone
was steady in the East and Sooth, steady to
weak in the Midwest and West. Demand
into retail channels was moderate to
instances good, mostly fair into institution
al accounts. Supplies were adequate to ful
ly adequate. Breaker demand was mixed
for the adequate to fully adequate nest
runs. Moat plants relied on regular sup
pliers. Market undertone barely steady to
weak. Live hen offerings were adequate to
short of processing needs. Market tone ful
ly steady.

Movement of teady-to-cook whole birds
was fair to fairly good. Seller offering*
were adequate and in generally good
balance. Live supplies were at least mod
erate; weights varied in a full nmge of light
to heavy and were mostly desirable to
heavy. Processing schedules were mod
erate to heavy. Less than tnicklot asking
prices were unchanged at 56 to 70 cents.
Trade sentiment was stead to fully steady.
In the pans complex, all item were general
