A resident of Berlin, Adam has been active on the fol lowing committees: seed sales, scholarsip, program at work, and on-farm dairy assis tant for three years. FFA awards included two for regional parliamentary procedure, scholarship, greenhand, chapter, and keystone. Adam plans to study ag management at Garrett Community College. The son of Dennis and Wendy Showers, Tim has been a FFA assis tant student advisor and served on the recreation committee. Linda Shuck Linda Shuck of Myersdale is a member of the Meyersdale FFA in Somerset County. The 17-year-old daughter of Colleen and Gary Shuck plans to become a lawyer. Linda has been the chapter reporter for four years and served on the scrapbook, spring trip, parent/student banquet com mittees. In addition to earning the green hand and chapter FFA degrees, Linda has maintained two off-farm project books and earned awards in county interview and salesmanship. She has most enjoyed doing community work and playing sports through her FFA involvement Troy W. Shuey Troy Shuey is the 17-year-old son of Thomas and Cherita Shuey Jr. of Jones town. For four years, Troy has been active in Northern Lebanon FFA where he was sentinel. Because Troy plans to operate a dairy farm, his projects included dairy herd for which he received a dairy proficiency award. He has earned both grccnhand and chapter FFA degrees. “I like meeting new people and travel,” Troy said of his FFA involvement. Chad Smelt Chad Smeltz is the 17-year-old son of Jack and Jody Dellinger of Little Mark. In Chad’s four-year involvement with Cowanesque FFA, he has served as chap ter treasurer and as the county treasurer for two years. Committee membership included involvement in SOE, earnings and savings. Christine Sickler Christine Sickler of Wemersville has been a member of Conrad Weiser FFA for four years. She has held offices as FFA secretary and vice president “I enjoy all the opportunities provi ded by FFA. It gives me a chance to ex agriculture and decide on a specific career,” Christine said. Through her involvement in horticul ture, Christine won two state awards and now plans to major in it at Penn State and pursue a career in plant research. Christine is the 17-year-old daughter of Susan and Josephy Sickler of Wemersville. Billy Billy Smith is the 19-year-old son of Debra and Richard Beckner of Somerset. A three year involvement in the Somerset County AVTS has garnered him awards in the national forestry contest, a first place team award in thi Sow Unit ing team, and a gold medalist for the Stale FFA forestry judging. Billy has held FFA chaper offices as sentinel and two terms as president. Committee membership includes sports, banquet, sweetheart, BOAC, and county contest He has held projects in directed labortory and work experience. Chapter degrees include green hand, chapter and keystone. Billy plans to join the military to become a military police. Of his FFA involvement Billy said that he loves to travel and through FFA he could do this. Darrell Smith The 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Dough Smith of Linesville, Darrell Smith has been a five-year member of the Lines ville FFA Chapter. He has held offices as president vice president, reporter, and chaplain. Darrell has been active in SAE, leader ship, ag awareness, recruitment scholar ship, and citizenship committees. His pro jects included dairy heifer, lawn service and maintenance. Darrell has received awards for PCC scholard staff, state project book (gold), chapter proficiency, dairy, state par liamentary procudure (silver), and state creed (gold. Degrees include greenhand, chapter, and Crawford County FFA. “I like the interaction with students across the state in the many FFA chapters. It's exciting to meet new people and share experiences with them,” said Darrell, who plans to join the Navy.
