Credit presented Farm Credit
Awards to dairy members for ex
cellence in a wide variety of 4-H
activities.
Jody Hewitt, Spring City, won
the senior award in 4-H dairy, a
$5O savings bond. A $25 cash
award went to Julie Sollenberger,
Spring City, as the junior winner.
In the 4-H dairy goat division,
Jason Wagner, Spring City, re
ceived the $5O savings bond, with
Jessica Bohmier, New London, re
ceiving the $25 cash award.
Albright commented on the de
velopment of the new 4-H center
which recently dedicated a multi
purpose 200-fL by 80-ft building
that will be used for youth activi
ties and especially for roundups
and a fair in 1997.
An outdoor horse show-ring is
also to be ready next year.
He thanked the 4-H families for
their help in raising funds for the
project and asked that they contin
ue to solicit donations so that ad
ditional buildings and facilities
can be developed at the center.
Walter Wurster, recently retired
Chester County Extension agent,
was honored by the 4-H dairy
leaders and members and received
a large basket of gifts, including
dairy snacks, cookies, candy, a de
corative china pie plate and a din
ing gift certificate for the William
Penn Inn near Norristown. The
Chester County Kids Dairy Goat
Club gave him a card with $25 en
closed
The Manor Dairy Club pre
sented the entertainment for the
evening which included a Penn
sylvania Dutch storyteller, Dan
Martin from Cumberland County.
The evening concluded with a
square dance.

costs of various ingredients as
compiled from regional reports
across the state of Pennsylvania.
Remember, these are averages,
so you will need to adjust your fig

location and the quality of your
