HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.)
The Pennsylvania Suffolk
Sheep Association held its 33rd
annual ewe sale on Oct 6 in con
junction here with the Keystone
International Livestock Exposi
tion (KILE).
Champion and high selling ewe
was the first place sale yearling
consigned by Sarah Fitz Patrick,
Wayland, N.Y. The ewe sold for
$650 to Genia Bullock, Harring
ton, Del. The reserve champion
ewe was the second place year
ling, an entry of Frank and Bar
bara Hunter, Cassadaga, N.Y.
Thomas LeFleur, Bunker Hill,
West Virginia paid $475 for this
ewe.
The first place sale ewe lamb
was consigned by Lyn Lee Farms,
State College. Debra Phillips,
Amity, was the buyer at $550.
James Hefner, Lima, Ohio showed
the second place ewe lamb. She
sold it for $5OO to David Kings
borough, Tiffin, Ohio.
The 10 yearling ewes averaged
$437.50 and the 15 ewe lambs had
a $351.33 average. The overall
average on the 25 head was
$385.80.
