Pro Ag Urges Action
MESHOPPEN (Wyoming Co.)
Arden Tewksbury, manager of
the Progressive Agriculture Or
ganization (Pro Ag), is urging all
dairy farmers and business people
to immediately contact United
States Secretary of Agriculture
Dan Glickman and urge him to in
stall a floor price of $l5 per CWT.
under the Basic Formula Price
which is announced on the sth of
each month.
The Basic Formula Price is the
benchmark that establishes all
milk prices. Milk prices paid to
area dairy farmers will start de
clining on October’s produced

At a time when the dairy farm
ers' cost of production is at an all
time high, it is certainly not the
time to allow milk prices to de
cline.
The only immediate way to pre
vent the milk price decline is by
Secretary Glickman to use his
executive authority and install the
floor price.
Secretary Glickman can be
reached by calling (202) 720-3631
or fax: (202) 720-2166.
The secretary’s address is U.S.
