The Chester County Holstein Club met recently at the West Fallowfield Christian School to review the past year’s actions and events, and, and honor members’ outstanding achievements. President Ed Breckbill intro duced guests and reviewed the minutes of last year, along with a review of members achievements. Patti Hushon, of Delta, serves the Pennsylvania Holstein Associ ation on a part-time basis to help with registration work. She said that for some of the catchup programs, members can get at no extra cost a representative from Pa. Holstein Association to come to the farm, take photos and fill out the registration paperwork. The group made a special recog nition of Walter Wurster, the recently retired county extension agent, who continues to help with some of the programs as a volunteer. He told the group that his posi tion is to be replaced, and that of Alan Strock, the former farm man agement specialist who left the extension program for private employment. Wurster also told the group that be has been involved with die Act 319 (Clean and Green preferential property tax assessment program) reassessment and that farmers should be pleased, though final word was still up to the county commissioners.
