    Pennsylvania State Grange Announces Competition Winners
WARREN (Warren Co.)
Members of the Youth and Deaf
Activities departments took center
stage on the first night of the 124th
annual Pennsylvania State Grange
Convention here with rousing per
formance in public speaking and
sign-a-song competitions.
Martha Ebersole and her son,
Brian, of Community Grange,
Perry County, took first-place
honors in their respective age
groups (30 and older and 14-19) in
the public speaking contest.
Martha, who is the director of
the state Grange Youth Depart
ment, discussed the role indivi
duals play in other people’s lives
while Brian talked about the value
of Grange involvement and the re
wards of being a Grange member.
“I go around the state encourag
ing members to enter this contest,”
Martha said about her decision to
enter the contest for the first time,
“and I decided that I should prac
tice what I preach and lead by ex
ample.”
