show season with one of the
nation’s highest honors for dres
sage horse breeders. M. Ecloir, the
farm’s two year old Dutch Warm
blood filly, won the East Coast
Breeders’ Championship last
week at Dressage at Devon, the
country’s most prestigious dres
sage horse breed show. Claire, as
she is known by her stablemates,
qualified for the championship by
becoming Young Horse Champ
ion at the Prince George’s Equest
rian Center in Maryland in
August She then competed at
Devon against the Young Horse
Champion and Reserve from six
other nationally recognized breed
shows, to win the East Coast
M. Eclolr, a Dutch Warmblood filly wins national honors.

Dressage is an equine disepline
much like gymnastics for people,
where the horse must perform
highly athletic movements with
grace, precision and harmony with
its rider. Claire and her competi
tors were evaluated for their
potential, suitability and qualities
as dressage sport horses, with six
ty percent of the scores based on
athletiscim and movement, thirty
percent on conformation, and ten
percent on general impression.
Dressage at Devon was host to
top international riders and horses,
and boasted a first rate interna
tional judging team, including
Liselotte Fore and Gotz Weber-
