On Tuesday, Oct 8, the Ephrata Area Young Farmers (EAYF) ventured out in the rain to attend a meeting on “Farm Machinery Mainte nance” at Adamstown John Deere Equipment Inc. Nelson, a farm machinery mechanic, opened the meeting with a 23-minute video on how to maintain the cooling system, all intake systems, and the fuel injection system on farm machinery. Neslon pointed out to the group that the number one oversight he has observed over the years is the failure, by far mere, to properly keep their tractors greased. Nelson Zimmerman, another farm machinery mechanic, thoroughly reviewed, with the EAYF, the main proce dure of the air condi tioning unit inside the tractor. For more informa tion, contact Dori C. Brunken, EAYF coordi nator, (717) 859-3276.
