Prices were generally unchanged. The
market tone was steady. Demand was fair
to good, and current negotiated trading
centered on immediate needs. Floor stocks
were short to adequate. Raw material offer
ings were, no more than adequate, and
prices were unchanged. Edible liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the East
ern region for the week ending September
28,1996 were 2% more than last week, and
% more than the same week last year.

Prices were unchanged to lower for ‘
large sizes in Boston and the Midwest,
unchanged to higher for the light sizes in
the Midwest, and the balance of prices
were unchanged. The market tone
remained cautiously steady to weak for the
large sizes, and steady to firm for
mediums. Demand remained mixed, and
was mostly moderate. Supplies were
adequate to ample for the large sizes, and
tight to adequate for mediums and smalls.
Breaking stock supplies were mixed, and
usually at least adequate under a steady to
instances weak trade sentiment Light type
hen offerings were adequate for full plant
schedules.
