nounced a producer nonfat milk
solidi price of $1 per pound for
July 1996.
Die weighted average differen
tial base milk price was $1.32 per
hundredweight and the price per
pound of butterfat was $1.6798.
The producer NFMS price was up
1 cent from last year while the
base differential was unchanged.
Die standardized base milk
price per hundredweight for pro
ducer milk with the market aver
age nonfat milk solids content and
3.5 percent butterfat would have
been $15.79 and die excess price
would have been $14.47.
This represents a base {vice in
crease of $3.24 per hundredweight
from the previous year. The ex
cess price increased $3.24 from
last July.
The nonfat milk solids price,
applicable to handler payments,
was $1.0086 per pound for the
month, up 1.23 cents from last
July. The weighted average price
for July was $15.78 per hundred
weight and would have been ap
proximately 18 cents lower with
out the effect of the Class ni-A
price.

receipts totaled 472. million
pounds during July, a decrease of
232 million pounds from last July
and the average daily delivery iff
3,150 pounds per propucer de
creased 96 pounds or 3 percent
from a year earlier.
Total nonfat milk solids pro
duction for the month was 40.5
million pounds. This represents an
average NFMS test of 8.59 per
cent, up from 8.52 percent last
July.
Class 1 producer milk totaled
224.1 million pounds and was up
102 million pounds, or 4.7 per
cent from last July.
Class I milk accounted for
47.47 percent of total producer
milk receipts during the month,
compared with 43.20 percent in
July 1995.
Base milk accounted for 93.88
percent of total producer milk re
ceipts in July compared with
93.39 percent last year. The aver
age butterfat test of producer milk
was 3.57 percent, up from 3.5 per
cent last July.
Middle Atlantic Order pool
handlers reported Class I in-area
milk sales of 164.3 million pounds
during July, a decrease of 10.4
percent from a year earlier, after
adjustment to elmininate variation
due to calendar composition.
