Nobledale Farm topped the com
petition as they captured both the
premier breeder and exhibitor ban
ners at the 1 1th annual District IV
Jersey Parish Show held Aug. 19.
Judge Chris Hill of Maryland
sorted through the 90 entries to
select Bren-Delite Daffodil, a
5-ycar-old owned by Brenda Rob
son Hodder, as the grand
champion.
Following closely in his pattern
of long, clean dairy cows was his
reserve grand champion, Noble
dale Juno ‘Wonder, owned by
Nobledale Farm.
Named junior champion of the
show was Ty-Ly-Vicw June
Dawn, a summer yearling owned
by Paul 4 and Carolyn Moyer. The
reserve junior champion of the day
was fall calf Bren-Delite Autumn,
owned by Brenda Robson Hodder.
PennAg Convention
Speakers Named
EPHRATA (Lancaster Co.)
PennAg Industries Association
has announced that the following
speakers will address its 118th
Convention. The Convention will
be at the Hotel Hershey, Hershey,
PA on Tuesday, September 17.
1996.
William Matuszeski, Director,
of EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Prog
ram Office, will be- the Keynote
speaker at the convention. He is
Chairman of the Implementation
Committee for the Bay Program, a
cooperative restoration effort by
the States of Maryland, Virginia
and Pennsylvania; the District of
Columbia, the Chesapeake Bay
Commission representing the
three states’ legislatures; andEPA
as the representative of the Feder
al Government The Bay Program
is the premier watershed restora
tion effort in the United States,
and is recognized world-wide for
its clear goals, measurable
achievements, comprehensive
approach to such complex prob
lems as air deposition and popula
tion growth, and use of computer
models to test management
options.

ment and Fisheries of The Nether-
lands is currently head of the
Centre for Information and Sup
port of Manure Processing. The

summer yearling. In the reserve
position was Kent Barker’s fall
calf, Jer-Sweet Malcolm Gems
Sapphire.

Previously, he served as head of

Experimental Research Station for
Cattle Husbandry at Lelystad, as
an economist in the National
Dairy Development Project in
Kenya, and in the headquarters of
the Ministry of Agriculture in The
Hague.
James C. Miller, 111, will be the
Banquet Speaker.
Miller is Counselor to both Citi
zens for a Sound Economy and the
Tax Foundation. He is also a Dis
tinguished Fellow at the Center
for Study of Public Choice at
George Mason University, a
member of the Administrative
Conference of the U.S. and a
Senior Fellow of the Hoover Insti
tution at Stanford University.
From October 1985 to October
1988, Miller was Director of the
Office of Management and
Budget and was a member of Pres
ident Reagan’s cabinet. He has
also served as Chairman of the
Federal Trade Commission.
The holder of a Ph.D. in eco
nomics, Miller is the, author of
over 100 .articles in professional
journals and is the author, co
author or editor of eight books.
