Rohrer Holds Corn Trials Mark Jacques, manager of product development with AgrlPro Seeds Inc., talks about some of the 50 corn varieties planted In this plot In cooperation with P.L. Rohrer & Bros. Inc. and local farmers. P.L. Rohrer held the field trial event this week for its customers to allow them to see the different varieties and to meet with company rep resentatives who actually develop varieties. The group also toured another field where soybeans and high oil corn varieties were planted. The high oil varieties use a row of pollinating plants to provide the genetics for several rows of male-sterile pro duction plants. The hlgh-oil characteristic doesn’t express itself in self-pollinated plants. The event was part of an ongoing program by P.L. Rohrer for seed develop ment and local trials based on farmer/customer needs and local conditions. SOWS: Few 1-3 335/475 lbs, 42.50-46.00; Few BOARS: 185/420 'b«, 28.00-34.00.
