—Cool temperatures maned only
by occasional showers aided the
46th annual Morrison’s Cove
Dairy Show held recently.
A new format this year had the
show compacted into three days
with one day for a youth show, one
day for an open division (adults
and youth) colored breeds show
and another day for an open divi
sion Holstein show.
Supreme champion of all breeds
for the week was a 2-year-old
Jersey cow owned by Craig and
Susan Wicker of Centre Hall.
The reserve supreme champion
was an aged Holstein cow owned
by Charles Hershberger of
Martinsburg.
Overall all the breed shows, the
premier breeder and exhibitor was
Globe Run Farms owned by Alice
and John Foster Jr. of Petersburg.

Youth Division
In the youth division Holstein
show. Ellen Beit showed the grand
champion, while Holly Morse of
Clearville took reserve honors.
Junior champion was a winter
yearling owned by Amanda Cess
na and Rachel Fox showed an
intermediate calf as reserve junior.
In the youth Guernsey show
Aaron Gable of Snider Homestead
Farms in New Enterprise took top
Guernsey awards, while his cou
sin, Amber Clark, held reserve
honors.
Jan Snider and Amber Clark
took junior champion honors.
In the youth Brown Swiss show,
Walter Schilling and Nicholas
Burket of Curryville showed the
grand champion, while Walter
Schilling of Williamsburg had
reserve grand.
Burket took all junior champion
awards.
Leslie Bailey of Ralaine Jerseys
in Roaring Spring took champion

Rachael McCutcheon of Altoona.
Charles Liner, Port Matilda, had
the senior champion, Jason
Mowry, Roaring Spring, took
reserve senior honors with a
2-year-old.
McCutcheon also showed an

The open division colored
breeds show was held on July 31.
In the Ayrshire show, Alan
Brant, Blacklog Ml Farm, Mt.
Union, showed the grand champ
ion, a 2-year-old. Reserve honors
went to Michael Brant also of
Blacklog.
Reserve junior champion, a
winter calf, was shown by Rachel
McCutcheon of Altoona while
Alan Brant showed the junior
champion, a winter yearling.
The grand champion Brown
Swiss was a 3-year-old owned by
Brandy Homing of Huntingdon,
while the reserve grand champion
rosette went to Charles Liner of
Port Matilda with a 5-year-old.
Nicholas Burket took junior
champion with a junior yearling
and Rachel Sellers, Martinsburg,
had reserve junior with a senior
yearling.
In the Guernsey show, Aaron
