Lebanon County Wins Livestock Judging Contest VERNON ACHENBACH JR. Lancaster Farming Staff NORTH CORNWALL (Leba non Co.) The Southeast Dis trict 4-H Livestock Judging Contest was held August 2 in con junction with the Lebanon Area Fair and Lebanon County posted a decisive win, with both junior-age and senior-age teams and topping teams from Lancaster, Berks, Dau phin and York counties. In the junior-age division, Kyle Fleener, of Robesonia, was the overall outstanding individual, while Ann Leed, of Lebanon was the highest ranking individual in the senior-age division. For Fleener, the honors capped a strong week with his showing the grand champion steer of the Leba non Area Fair, as well as the reserve grand champion market lamb. Complete final results were not available from competition organizers. However, from partial results made available, and from announcements made during the award presentations on August 2, Fleener was the top junior-aged individual in beef and swine. Hope Long, of Lancaster was the high junior-age individual for swine. The Lebanon junior-age judging team, consisting of members Fleener, Nathan Spalz and Bran don Winebark woe first in beef and swine and top overall. The Lancaster County team with members Danny Bollinger, Nicole Hess and Hope Long were fust in sheep. In the senior-age divi sion, the top overall individual was Ann Leed, of Lebanon Coun ty. She was first in reasons-giving for sheep judging, but she didn’t place first in any specie competition. First place individu als according to species were Blaine Brown, of Lebanon, top individual in beef; Nicole Knepp of Berks County, first in sheep; and Conrad Smoker of Chester County, first in swine. The top senior-aged team overall was Leba non County, with mem bers Ryan Spatz, Anri Leed and Blaine Brown. That team finished first in beef and swine catagories.
