Lancaster 4-H Holstein

Reserve Holstein went to the
senior 2-year-old, Wyeview Raid
er Shazam, shown by Justin How
es, Elizabethtown. Justin, also a
Northwest 4-H Dairy Club mem
ber, obtained the animal from
Steve McCutcheon in Canada.
In show order, the Guernsey
grand champion went to the junior
champion, the fall senior yearling,
Maple Lane DP Dana, shown by
Robert Jason Henisee from Col
umbia. The breeder was Bryan
Keith Wolf. Rome, Ohio. Reserve
went to the 5-year-old shown by
Brian Smith, King & Queen Fayet
te Flower. Brian is also the ani
mal’s breeder, from Denver.
Champion owner bred went to
Brian Smith and reserve went to
Andrew Smith.
The Jersey grand champion
went to the senior champion, Ste
phanie Donough, Willow Street,
for her senior 3-year-old, Royal
Queen Juno Laurane. Breeder is
Timothy and Brenda Donough,
Willow Street. Reserve also went
to Stephanie for her fall senior
yearling and junior champion,
Royal Queen Imperial Lanita, bred
by Stephanie. Champion and
reserve owner-bred female were
shown by Stephanie.
There was one exhibitor in the
Ayrshire class, and Matthew Kern
per, Peach Bottom, picked up
grand and reserve champion. The
Joe Best won best bred and owned-Holstein with his
4-year-old, Candy, at the Lancaster County 4-H Dairy Show
on Wednesday.

Hope, was bred by Ardrossan
Farms/Mrs. H.H.M. The reserve,
Pineland Heligo Pearlette, was
bred by Warren A. Schmuck,
Peach Bottom.
In the Brown Swiss class, grand
champion went to the Elizabeth
Smith, Denver, for her senior
champion, a 6-year-old and over,
K & Q JK Willette. The animal
was bred by Elizabeth Smith.
Reserve went to Gerald Boyd for
his dry cow 2 years and over, K&Q
Brigadier Lollipop, bred by King
and Queen Farm, Ephrata.
In all, there were a total of 80
animals and about 60 exhibitors.
Judge for the fitting contest was
Tom McCauley. Elizabethtown.
Judges for the showmanship and
type contests were Chris and Steve
Wood, Littlestown.
