At Promise-Lane Farm located on Colebrook Road west of
Lebanon, they farm 160 acres of com and alfalfa. This new
Dairy of Distinction is owned by Eugene and Kathleen Martin
and their three children, Alison 20, Andy 18, and Amanda 14.
Amanda is a Lebanon County dairy maid this year. The farm
was purchased in 1981. They milk 90 Holsteins in a stall barn
with pipeline system and have an additional group of heifers
and calves coming on as replacements for the herd. Their herd
aveage Is over 2 lbs. of milk with Individual records up to
31,000 lbs.

John and Sharon Kline’s Dairy of Distinction features a his
toric house that dates back before 1800, and the bank barn is
155 feet long and Is noted to be the largest such barn In Leba
non County. The barn was built in 1890. The milk 70 registered
Holstelns that average 25,000 lbs. of milk. Individual records
go up to 39,000 on 3x milking. John’s dad bought the farm in
1977. John and Sharon have three children, Jason 6, Joshua 4,
and Jared 2. They enjoy developing cow families and to breed
for longevity.
