At Sanner Farms, located near Kutztown in Berks County,
the emphasis is on all-around management of both the dairy
herd and the field crops so there Is no weak link. Kenneth and
Denise Sanner and their son Brett 12, are carrying on a 40-year
tradition that started from grandfather’s chicken house. Over
the years the family has developed the dairy in a practical way
so that today they milk 90 registered Holstelns In a double 4
milking parlor and have about that many replacements In the
bams. They farm 300 acres of com and hay to feed the cows.
