EPHRATA (Lancaster Co.)
Twenty-one contestants were
selected as winners of this year’s
Cow Mania Drawing. On Thurs
day, June 20, Pennsylvania Davy
Princess Rhonda Kieklak visited
the Lancaster Farming office to
draw the winning entries.
Remember, winners are
selected through random drawing
and not from taste-testing recipes.
Unfortunately, we can’t send a
prize to everyone. But be assured
that even if you haven’t won a
prize, your recipe is sure to be a
cherished addition to recipe collec

With so many readers contribut

King Baby First In June
LANCASTER (Lancaster Co.)
—To celebrate June Dairy month,
Lancaster County hospitals were
given baby T-shirts that read “I
love milk.”
Michael Jay King was Lancas
ter County’s first June baby. Bom
June 1 at 12:30 a.m. at Lancaster
General Hospital, he was Ray and
Barbara King’s second child, a
first son. Along with the T-shirt,
the Kings received a basketful of
dairy products.
In support of June Dairy Month,
add some dairy products to your
diet and thank the farmer who
works behind the scenes.
What Is A Farmer?
Heather Oberholtzer
Lancaster County
Dairy Princess
A farmer is someone with tots of
care
Plenty of knowledge and wis
dom to share
Up early every morning to greet
the cows
With milkers, teat dip, and pa
per towels
A farmer must be very diverse
Always with an answer for the
worst
Fieldwork is important, too
Rain or shine there's always
something to do
Whether filling silo or baling
hay
A little smile can make an
other’s day
Later in the day it's again milk
way to And new recipes and learn
about other readers. Thanks to all
our readers who took time from
their busy schedules to make the
Cow Mania Drawing a big
