    Coronation, Awards Highlight State

BEDFORD (Bedford Co.) —A
tearful Melissa Morrow, Pennsyl
vania Guernsey Queen, told her
audience that she had learned so
very much during the past year.
“My advice to the youth,” she
continued, “is to take advantage of
every opportunity.”
Melissa expressed gratitude to
Jim and Mary Lou Trotter who
chair the State Guernsey Conven
tion held annually in Bedford
County. She also thanked her very
good friend and past Guernsey
Dairy Queen, Beth Clark; her
friend, Patty McMurray, and her
parents for her success as the
Guernsey Queen.
Accepting the crown for
1996-97 was Vickie Ansell of
Scottdale in Westmoreland
County.
The crowning ceremony took
place at the annual Pennsylvania
Junior Guernsey Breeders’ Asso
ciation Awards Breakfast held on
Saturday, April 17, at the Arena
Restaurant in Bedford.

a verbal adventure of her trip to
Australia as a Guernsey dairy
judge.
