Grain and soybean bids exploded,
Wednesday, shooting limit up again.
Wheat and com bids were supported by
active overnight export business, trade cor
rections, weather and crop concerns. Soy
bean bids received strength from higher
wheat and com trade and reports of sub
stantial overnight Brazilian soymeal sales
to China. Wheat 25 to 42 cents higher.
Com 11 to 21 cents higher. Sorghum 13 to
26 cents higher. Soybeans 21 to 27 cents
higher. Very good export demand for US
wheal to China lit a fire under bids after the
past couple days of extreme lows on the
board. Additional strength came from
reports that the wheat quality council tour
ing the hard red winter wheat areas esti
mated wheat yields even lower than earlier
expected. Despite the much needed rain
over the past couple of days, many winter
wheat areas just aren’t going to make it this
year. Spring wheat planting delays also
offered support to bids. Com bids were
higher after two days of active selling on
the board. Weather seems to be a major
supporter as planting delays due to rain and
cold conditions in the northern Midwest
are reported. Good overnight export orders
for com was also a plus factor. Soybean
bids move sharply higher on strong meal
demand and active fund buying. Indica
tions that China bought a large amount of
Brazilian bean meal overnight, sparked
bean trading. Export News: Purchaser
