whitei. The market lone began the week
firm for yolka, but ai ihell egg pricei fell,
the undertone for whole egg and blendi
weakened, white! were hardy steady to
steady, and yolks were steady. Demand
resumed a more immediate nature, and was
mostly moderate to meet current needs.
Floor stocks were usually adequate.
Shell egg and liquid offerings increased,
and prices began to decrease mid-week.
Edible liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients
included) processed under federal inspec
tion in die Eastern region for the week
ending April 20,1996 were 2% more than
last week, and 1% more than the same
week last year.

Prices wore unchanged to lower in the
Northeast and Midwest, and prices were
unchanged elsewhere. The market tone
was steady to weak. Demand wu mixed
from poor to moderate with retail move
ment light, and food service generally bet
ter. Supplies were adequate to ample and
readily available. Breaking stock supplies
were at least adequate for the light to fair
demand, and prices were lower; surplus
graded eggs continued to be offered to
breakers. Live hen offerings were at least
adequate for the limited demand, and plant
schedules continued to limit off farm
movement.
