3 cups water
2'/i cups rice
2 cups beans (any kind)
% cup vegetable oil
V\ cup Sofrito Goya
1 packet Sazon Goya (coloring)
2 teaspoons salt
'A teaspoon ground black
pepper
Heat water in large saucepan
until it boils. Add all the ingre
dients and mix. Stir occasionally.
Keep flame high until water eva
porates. Reduce heat to lowest set
ting. Cover with lid and cook for
30 minutes.
Serve with broiled chicken, gar
den salad, stir-fly vegetables, beef
stew or baked fish.

bouillon granules

8-ounce can tomato sauce
V* cup dry red wine
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 cup shredded Cheddar or Mon
terey Jack cheese
Vi cup cashews
In a large saucepan, combine the
frozen vegetables, hot water,
bouillon granules, and bay leaf.
Bring to boiling, then reduce heat
Cover and simmer S minutes. Do
not drain.
