Movement of rcady-to-cook whole birds
remained generally slow. Seller offerings
were fully adequate to ample with sales
noted at 45 and 46 cents to stimulate activi
ty. Live supplies were mostly moderate;
weights varied by plant in a hill range of
light to heavy. Processing schedules were
moderate to heavy. Less than tiucklot ask
ing prices were unchanged at 49 to 61
cents. Trade sentiment was barely steady to
weak. In the parts complex, all items were
adequate or available. Wings were burden
some at some plants. Other items varied
from fully adequate to ample with dis
counting used in many instances to move
excess supplies.

lower compared to a week ago. The market
tone was about steady. Movement from
production areas was hilly adequate to
ample, easily fulfilling slaughter needs.

Tiucfclot buying interest was dull and
disappointing. Offerings continued to build
and mote often than not mote negotiable
than usual. Promotional)interest was spot
ty, but traders were not enthusiastic as
interest centered around mote traditional
holiday items. Retail and distributive
movement was quiet -and typical for the
end of the month. Trade sentiment was
nervous and very cautious.

Prices were generally unchanged. The
market tone was steady. Demand remained
centered on less-than-lrucldol volumes.
Floor stocks were adequate and continued
to dear well. Shell egg supplies were gen
erally adequate at unchanged prices with
some increased movement of surplus light
sized eggs into breaker channels. Edible
liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients
included) processed under federal inspec
tion in the Eastern region for the week
ending Match 16,1996 were 2% more than
last week, and I % less than the same week
a year ago.
