Grain Market
ST. JOSEPH, MO
MARCH 13, 1996
Good export demand offered support to
wheal and com bids but wheat gains were
limited due to traders optimism that rain
will fall in the Plains Slates this week. Soy
bean bids were up slightly on improved oil
demand and a stronger cash com market
Wheat mixed. Com 3 to 4 cents higher.
Sorghum 2 to 6 cents higher. Soybeans I to
2 cents higher. Wheat traders continue to be
concerned over the fungus found in Arizona
durum wheat which added pressure to bids.
Forecasts for rainfall in the Plains was also
a lowering factor. However, strength was
noted due to very good export demand
overnight. Export com tales were suppor
tive to bids and especially good for the
week. Soybean bids followed com higher
and higher tayoil futures also added
strength. Hie USDA reduced its ending
stocks figure for soyoil by 120 million
pounds to 1.705 billion pounds. Continued
reports of Brazil’s delayed harvest offered
support. Export demand: Purchaser Com
