Town Meeting Day
March 5, besides being the Full Sap Moon, also marks
Town Meeting Day m Vermont, among other
places. In rural communities across New England,
Town Meeting Day is a chance to get out and about in
the name of democracy and shed a bit of our winter cabin
fever. Local scuttlebutt is considered, sides are taken, and
the not-so-silent majority has an opportunity to sound
off Mud season seems a suitable time for this foray into
the community, although snow jobs are still possible,
windiness is sometimes rampant, and there’s danger of
icy glares. n/k -
“Is it not possible
that an individual
may he right and a
government wrong?"
ns- To avoid cracking, leather boots should be dried away
from direct heat, then grease applied to the leather.
