Dairy and livestock producers in tent on making the conversion to an intensive grazing system on their farm is the focus of a series of workshops offered through Penn State Cooperative Extension in March. The Southeast Pennsylvania Grazing School will be held March 14, 21, and 28, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Berks County Agricultural Center. “We are interested in working with a small group of producers who want to take the time to think about how they will incorporate grazing on the farm,” said Mena Hautau, extension agent with Penn State Cooperative Extension in Berks County. During the workshop, produc ers will redesign their farm for grazing using aerial photos and BREAKING MILK RECORDS! At the end of the workshop, producers will walk away with a plan. “We also want them to have the support of their feed dealer and veterinarian. If producers want to develop additional on-farm sup port throughout the growing sea son, we intend to discuss that too.” according to Clyde Myers, exten sion agent. 'The workshop is limited to 20 participants. The registration fee, due Match 8. is $35 for the one person from the farm and $2O for each additional person from the farm. The fee includes reference material and the noon meal for all three meetings.
