However, one walk that will
forever stick in my mind is a walk
that I took when I was only 14
years old. You see, I had forgotten
to. pick up a house key off a table
in one farmhouse to open a door in
another farmhouse. And so my
father sent me down a pitch black
one-mile road to get that key. It
was a lonely, scary trip on a very
dark night. When I got home, I
found that the family had opened
an outside cellar door and had got
ten in the house without the key.
In the spring I and my six sisters
looked forward to a walk down
our cinder road to a meadow filled
with spring flowers. Our path took

Colorful Burning Plnecones
Vk gallons hot water
3 plastic or ceramic containers, one for each color
Vi pound copper sulfate (for green flame)
Vi pound boric acid (for crimson flame)
Vi pound calcium chloride (for yellow or yellow-orange
flame)
Pinecones '. ...
Pour Vi gallon hot water into each container. Add one
chemical to each container of hot water.
Stir until chemicals are dissolved.
Add pinecones and soak overnight.
Allow pinecones to dry thoroughly in warm dry air for two
da £d cones to fire two or three at a time. The colorful flames
will last only a short time.
Warning: Keep this solution out of the reach of small child
ren and pets. The chemicajs may be toxic.
