tinue to be scarce. Calf denund remains
moderate but somewhat improved from
past several weeks. Yearling quality aver
age to many plain with thin to medium
flesh and average to full weigh-ups. Calf
quality near average. Calf flesh condition
generally medium to fleshy but some
increase is noted in thinner type long term
weaned calves. With rain foncased for this
week buyers an reporting more farmer
interest in calves. Slaughter cows
2.50- lower with Cutters at the full
decline. Slaughter bulls 1.00 lower. Packer
demand fairly good despite large numbers
available. This week is the typical start of
Oklahoma’s fall cow tun. Cow numbers
this week are 27 percent larger than the
tame week last year at this rale. October
cow numbers were 8 percent larger than
October 1994. Majority of cows are old
and in typical culling condition. 1,140
cows and bulls told. Receipts this week
12,400; hut week 11,475; lan year 16,059.
Supply consisted of 50 percent yearlings
and calves over 600 lbs; 41 percent calves
under 600 lbs; 9 percent cows and bulls.
Prices follow with weighted average
weight and price in parenthesis. Feeder
