Join the Salford
Trappe 4-H Club
Boys and girls ages eight to 18
are invited to join the Salford-
Trappe 4-H Community Ch.b.
The club offers youth a variety
of exciting 4-H programs under
the direction of experienced vol
unteer adult leaders.
Some of trie projects are: orien
teering, ceramics, woodworking,
cooking, basketry, sewing, gar
dening, crafts, computers, card
collecting, rocketry and teen
leadership.
The club meets on the last Fri
day of each month at 7 p.m. at the
Montgomery County 4-H Center,
located on Route 113 near Skip
pack. Meetings to complete the
4-H projects listed are also sche
duled on a weekly or biweekly
basis at the convenience of the
4-H volunteer leaders.
Overnight 4-H camp opportuni
ties in the Poconos are also avail
able next summer for interested
4-H members, ages 8-13.
The next meeting is scheduled
for Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at the
4-H Center. It is a Halloween cos
tume parly. All prospective mem
bers must be accompanied by a
parent or responsible adult.
There are no dues charged by
the club. However, members must
purchase their own project mater
ials, as in any other 4-H group.
There is a $5 registration fee for
members who want to sew, which
goes toward sewing machine
maintenance and repair.

on hew to get involved with the
Saiford-Trappe 4-H Club either as
a member of volunteer, call
Helaine Brown, 4-H agent, at
(610) 489-4315. 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
at the 4-H Center. The, group is
especially looking for volunteers
interested in teaching the model
rocketry project to youth.
Jefferson Community
4-H Club
The club held its meeting on
Oct. 10 with the election of offic
ers for 1996 and a haunted
hayride.
New officers are: president,
Carly Mistovich; vice president,
Anna Perry; secretary, Randi
Shearer: assistant, Lacey Lentz;
treasurer, Elizabeth Kann; assis
tant, Ashley Bunty; news reporter,
Melissa Stough; and historians,
David Criss and Jeffrey
Devilbliss.
Song and game leaders are Tyl
er Devilbliss, Autumn Anderson,
and Lisa Criss.
Keystone Stockman’s
Contest
Adams County 4-H members
participated at the 1995 Keystone
Stockman’s Contest held at the
Farm Show Complex on Oct 9.
The contest had 100 teams
competing from six states with
300 participants. Adams County
had one team entered in the com
petition. Team members were
Wayne Flickinger, Biglerville;
Heidi Miller, New Oxford; Chris
Seymore, York Springs; and Jesse
Rothenhoefer, York Springs.
Adams County placed seventh
in the contest. The team was also
the fourth place team in meat
judging. Wayne Flickinger was
second high scoring individual in
the contest and won $125, desk
lamp, and silver tray. Wayne was
the Ist place meat judging indivi-
