    ‘Some Countries Don’t Have A Word For Volunteerism’

GRANVILLE (Mifflin
Co.) —“Some countries don’t
even have a word for volunteerism
in their language,” said Dr. Harold
Ott at a banquet to honor 4-H
volunteers.
Regional 4-H director from
Penn State, Ott spoke briefly to
more than 75 volunteers, 4-H’ers,
parents, and guests at the 4-H
leaders banquet at the Granville
United Methodist Church on Oct
10.
He complimented Mifflin
County for seeing the need for an
additional youth development
agent and hiring Lori Lauver to rill
that position.
The 4-H junior leaders, who
planned the banquet, surprised
Frank Bonson with the Friends of
4-H Award. The award goes to a
non-4-H leader who contributes
notably to the prorgram. Bonson
