The Strouse’s were featured in a
Purina ad last year when their RHA
reached 24,000 lbs., but since that
time, production has continued to
climb. The past years production
increase is listed below:
Date Cows % Davs RHA %BF #BF %Prot. #Prot
9/11/94 67.2 87.3 23879 3.8% 918 3.2% 764
3/12/95 62.8 89.5 27243 3.8% 1042 3.2% 862
The feeding Program includes Haylage, hay, dry
shelled corn, roasted soybeans, and HI E 31 UIP
concentrate from Purina. When ask what has
contributed to the increase, Tommy credits the
quality of Heifers that have come into the herd. One
example is a 2 yr. old that has 29561 lbs. milk. 1034
lbs. fat and 867 lbs. prot. at 305 days, (she is still
milking 93 lbs.)

Another cow that Tommy pointed out was a 4 yr.
old that had 31941 lbs. milk, 1289 lbs. BF, and 1047
lbs. Protein.
Good quality forages, lots of ventilation, excellent
management, and Purina products have provided
the right combination for the Strouses. Purina
Congratulates them, and wishes them continued
success.
