The Pearce house is the best surviving Queen Anne

was built for Judge James Pearce, son of the mid
century U.S. Senator, by H.M. Stuart, one of the
towns premier craftsman. Notable are the banded
exterior walls and ornaments of plaster and terracot
ta. The porches, balustrades and irregular dormers,
as well as the pink slate and detailed color scheme of
the home, makes this a fine example of a period
house with all its fabric intact.
