Gerald Martin, 10, son of Clar ence and Marilyn Martin, New Holland, celebrated the end of his show season by exhibiting his 266-pound purebred Duroc. Show judge Jim Parlett, Airvil le, praised the hog from the heavy weight division for its overall lean ness, muscling, and “soundness.” Gerald is in the Sth grade at Brecknock Elementary. With Big Red, this was the first champion ship for Gerald, who picked the hog from the Larry Arnold herd in Womelsdorf. Gerald has shown at the Denver and Ephrata fairs. Supreme champion hog at New Holland went to left, judged the show. Reserve champion went to Jus tin Good, 20, son of Amos and Pat Good, Lititz. Justin said this was the last year he’ll be showing at New Holland, and said he has been pretty happy this show season. Jus tin showed his 248-pound middle weight champion, a Babcock hog from Jerry Hostetler in Denver. Showmanship champions were Lisa Pfautz, senior, Kevin Pfautz, junior, and Holy Hoover, amateur.
