Rhonda also gave her award
winning speech before the audi
ence. In it, she spoke of the com
mitment of dairy farmers and how
often they are taken for granted or
degraded. She encouraged the
audience to take the time to be
thankful and show appreciation to
the unsung heroes by verbally
thanking them and by buying dairy
products. She included a personal
tribute to her dad who she calls her
own special unsung hero.
Melanie Kay Snyder, the
Clarion-Venango dairy princess,
also gave an award-winning
speech. She told about her home
farm, 4-H leadership, and attend
ing Penn State. Her most important
projects are dairy projects, she
said. Cows produce about 2,000
gallons of milk a year, from which
55 different dairy products are

made. According to her calcula
tions, it would take one person 14
years to drinking three glasses a
day to consume as much milk as a
cow produces m a year.

Mifflin County Dairy Princess
Diane Yoder, daughter of Gideon

and Debra Brownewell.

and Jennifer Davis, daughter of
Ray and Frances Davis of Berks
County. Honorable mention went
to Rhonda Kieklak; Beth Marshall,

Ruth Marshall; Crystal Couch,
daughter of Bill and Anne Couch
of Huntingdon County; and Tracy
