A South down ewe named “Wendy” won the supreme ewe honors at the York Fair’s junior sheep breeding show, then paired with a penmate to claim the supreme fair title as well. Jennifer Flinchbaugh also haul ed home the best bred and owned title for her winning ewe, bred on the family’s Y.oik farm from na tionally-wiitning Southdown bloodlines. In July, Wendy took second place fa the national junior show in Indiana for her 14-year old owner. Matched with Wendy for the supreme fair win was a purchased futurity Southdown, entered in the November national show in LouisviHe, Ky. Jay Rishel, exhibiting breeding sheep for only his second year in competition, took supreme ram honors in the junior show. The Hampshire ram is named “Edgar,” as in Edgar Allan Poe, die au thor in salute to the Stanley and Poe Farm of Indiana where he was bred. The supreme title was the first for the M-year-old Seven Valleys junior exhibitor.
