A pair of three-year-old entries in the fair Holstein dairy show walked off with the top honors Thursday afternoon. The first place stylish, Hannoverhill Logic daughter captured the grand champion trophy for Mark and Kristina Welk, Quarryville. The home-bred Welk-Shade Logic Donna was also named best udder and along with a number of other top class placing entries led the Welks to both the premier exhibi tor and breedef awards. The second place three-year-old became the reserve grand champ ion for Joseph Best, Kirkwood. Also bred by the owner, Bestdale Southwmd Candy was then named grand champion of the youth division. Caleb Crolhers, Rising Sun, Maryland, showed his junior two year-old Long Green Counselor Marina to the reserve grand champion in the junior division. In addition, Crothers had the reserve junior champion in the open show with Long Green Raider Jupiter, a senior calf. The junior champion in the open show was shown by Jill Hamish, Christiana. Spruce-Edge Blkstr Thursday was the first place inter mediate calf. Judge Ronald Daubert, a dairy farmer from Pine Grove said the quality ran deep into the classes and the champions were called great examples of dairy cows. About 80 head were shown and the strong show drew entries from York County, and Maryland, as well as the local district.
