‘Energy Dense’ Hybrids
SHIREMANSTOWN (Cum
berland Co.) —The Beachley-
Hardy Sr-’d Company announces
the release of three new “Energy
Dense” Hytest® brand seed com
hybrids for 19% planting in mid-
Atlantic dairy and livestock farms.
“Energy Dense” or “ED” tech
nology increases oil content over
normal hybrid corns by 50 percent
or more. Since oil is 225 percent
more energy-dense than starch
(which makes up the endosperm
of nomral dent com), ED com
transfers this benefit to the ration,
giving the livestock producer a
greater feed response on a pound
for pound basis.
In addition, higher amounts of
'hesc key amino acids results in
high quality protein for all types of
livestock. Conservative estimates
are that lysine is improved 16 per-
