Maryland and the other was nam
ed All Maryland.
Couns, however, was never ex
hibited as a heifer.
She made up for that at the state
fair Couns was named inter
mediate champion and reserve
grand champion of the Holstein
show.
Nona Schwaitzbeck said Couns
and cows like her provide her
family with an additional manage
ment and marketing tool.
“We are striving to survive so
we can hand down our farm to our
children and hopefully they can
hand it down to 'their children”
Schwartzbeck said.
