TIMONIUM, Md. It was a
“three-peat” for the Joseph
Schwartzbeck Family of Union
Bridge as their Peace and Plenty
Farm won the Maryland Holstein
Futurity for the third consecutive
year.
Windy Knoll View Couns
Peace and Plenty ET was chosen
from 18 entries in this year’s fu
turity, held Sunday night at the
Maryland State Fair in Timonium.

like to place them” and Couns has
“a beautiful, beautiful well-attach
ed udder” and “such a good set of
feet and legs,” White said. The
three-year-old’s depth and “spring
of step” were also noted by the in
ternationally renowned judge, as
were Couns’ “dairy head and
beautiful neck.”

Joe purchased Couns from Bur
dette as an embryo transfer. Couns

was Carnation Counselor ET. Her
dam was Ultimate Pala, dam of 18
junior All American nominated
cows.
For Burdette, the taste of vic
tory at the Maryland State Fair
was sweet, though it didn’t come
easy.
Wearing the floral lei awarded
to the cow following a session of
family photos, Burdette said
Couns was “hard to hang onto.”
“But I enjoyed it to the fullest,”
he said.
The Schwartzbecks gave the
credit for this year’s win to Bur
dette and Ids well-bred cow.
Nona Schwartzbeck said-* the

tory.

Plenty Justa Polly Sue was named
second runner-up in the contest
First runner-up was Cold

Farm in New Windsor. Third run

Lincoln, exhibited by Robert and
Mary Smith of My Lady's Manor
