Milbro-Empress Wins Supreme Champion At Somerset Show
GAY BROWNLEE
Somerset Co. Correspondent
MEYERSDALE (Somerset
Co.) —When the grand champions
from four breeds of cows returned
to the show arena for selection of
supreme champion at the Som
erset County Junior Dairy Show, it
was the opinion of type judge Lar
ry Specht, University Park, that
the title was wholly deserved by
the Holstein grand champion.
Junior 3-year-old, Milbro-
Empress, ,bred and owned by Kir
sten Miller, 16, of Boswell, came
up the winner when Specht made
the decision. She’s a daughter of

man, Kirsten, in 1993, also had the
show’s supreme champion.
Ben Miller, her brother, was a
pretty strong competitor with
Milbro-Lindys Illusion, the Hols
tein reserve grand champion. Last
year his was the supreme champ
ion, so the siblings have been see
sawing over the title.
They are members of the Stitch
and Squirt 4-H Club and credit
good genetics and nutrition for the
consistent quality of their dairy
animals. And they help each other.
Matthew Moyer’s 5-year-old,
Saints Silver Candy, was the

was Maranatha Marty Iris, owned
bv Ezra Van Tassel.
