Grain Market

AUGUST 30, 1995
Wheat bid* fell slightly lower on
continued trade correction! and harvest
pressure. Com bids were slightly higher
supported by a stranger bean market and
continued hot, dry 'w.eather in Com Bell
areas. Soybean bids received moderate
strength from active And buying on the
board, despite late profit taking. Wheat
mostly 1 cent lower except Portland 2 cents
higher. Com steady to 4 cents higher. Sorg
hum 1 to 5 cents higher. Soybeans 1 to 9
cents higher. Wheat was slightly lower on
follow through weakness from yesterday.
Some profit taking was noted on the board.
Harvest pressure was also a factor as tains
let up and farmers were able to resume cut
ting in places. Portland wheat finished
slightly higher due to good export demand
this week. Com and soybean bids
rebounded somewhat with heavy fund buy
ing in soybeans the major supporter.
Export sales have been good for com this
week and the overnight purchase of beans
offered further strength. Crop concerns
continue, especially for late planted beans
and hot, muggy weather still hangs over
the Midwest Export demand: Purchaser
