Several prominent gov ernment officials were on hand at a breakfast meeting Wednesday morning to emphasize the impor tance of agriculture and agribusi ness, especially in providing the opportunity for exports and in the use of Pennsylvania products for manufacturing. Both Pennsylvania Ag Secret ary Charles Brosius and State Rep resentative Peter Zug attended the event sponsored by Farmer Boy Ag, Leon Hoover, president and CEO. Farmer Boy'Ag is building poultry and hog facilities in 24 dif ferent states, and they have 40 peo ple marketing throughout 96 coun tries. Projects are underway in Japan and Argentina with excel lent prospects in Korea, Chile and Mexicor Tim Mason, chief financial officer, said Fanner Boy Ag had sales that exceeded $BO million in 1994, and this was a 100 percent increase from 1993. Of these sales, $2 million was in foreign sales. The company has 350 employees.
