was shown by Denise Bollinger
and listed under Darryl Bollinger,
Manheim, in the catalogue. The
Bollinger family entry was the first
place four year-old. Denise also
had the reserve grand champion in
the youth show with her aged cow.
TTie junior champion of the
Holstein breed was shown by Stacy
Weidler, Lawn, and Heather Ober
holtzer, Elizabethtown, had the
reserve junior champion.
With the supreme champion of the youth dairy show is
Amy Brandt. Jam! Krouse, Elizabethtown Fair queen pre

Amy Brandt, Elizabethtown,
had the grand champion in the
youth show with her two year-old
and then was named supreme
champion of die youth dairy shpw
over all breeds.
In the Jersey show, the Dice
brothers horn Fredericksburg had
the champions. Edward had the
grand champion with his junior
champion senior heifer calf, and
Andrew had the reserve grand
champion with his reserve junior,
champion intermediate heifer calf.
Jason Henisee, Donegal, had the
only Guernsey entry, a senior heif
er calf that was named both junior
and grand champion for the breed.

town, was the judge.

Association, Select Sires Make Agreement
BRATTLEBORO, Vt.—The
board of directors of the Ayrshire
Breeders Association has
approved an agreement with
Select Sires, Plain City, Ohio to
conduct the type evaluations of
Ayrshire cows.
’This is a bold step,” said Jim
McConnell, president.
“This will effectively reduce
costs by more than SO percent to
the breeders and stimulate partici
pating in the breed’s type evalua
tion program used in genetic eva
luations and marketing.
“The association is continuing
to step up efforts to put such prog
ressive action into place to pro
vide breeders improved opportun-
