Melissa Brantner was one of the multiple winners during the Southcentral District FFA Dairy Show held at the Shippens burg Fairgrounds. Brantner, who is from Lurgan, won the grand champion title for Milking Shorthorns with her senior 2-year-old, Twilite Big Time Star. She also won the re serve grand chhmpion Milking Shorthorn award with another sen ior 2-year-old, Walnut Hollows Cathy. Brantner swept the Guernsey competition as well. She won the grand champion spot with her winter yearling, BrandyO Di Vic tory Priscilla. Then, she captured the reserve grand champion award with her spring calf. BrandyO Memly Hunter Joie. In the contest for Jerseys, the grand champion position was won by Curtis Reichard of Chambers burg with his junior 3-year-old, Reich-Dale Brigadier Sandra Dee. Brian Reichard, also of Cham bersburg, had the reserve grand champion for the Jerseys with his 5-year-old, Reich-Dale Sargent Ann. The junior champion for the Jerseys was Stacy Goetz of Mer cersburg with her fall calf. Red Hills Linda Valiant Grace. Brian Reichard then won the reserve junior champion spot with his summer yearling, Reich-Dale Starbuck Angelique. The Holstein competition saw Brian Reichard again in the win ner’s circle, this time taking the grand champion title with his senior 3-year-old, Reich-Dale Beau Martha. The reserve grand champion in the Holsteins was Emme Mellott of Mercersburg with her junior 3-year-old, Chris-C-_ Astro Jet Cora-TW. Bradley Reichard of Chambers burg had the junior champion for the Holsteins with his winter calf, Oakleigh Encore Debra. The re serve junior champion in the Hol steins was Benjamin Mickey of Waynesboro with his winter calf, Chris-Gold Gusto Lorena. In the Brown Swiss contest, La rissa Mellott of St. Thomas had the grand champion with her sen ior 2-year-old, La-Mel-Lo Trad Rad Emmy Lou. The reserve grand champion was Wind Mill Porphet Jamie, a senior 3-year-old owned by Joy Hess of Gettysburg. Larissa Mellott won again in the Brown Swiss when she took the reserve junior champion spot with her winter calf, La-Mel-Lo Treki Hocuspocus. The Brown Swiss junior cham pion was Melissa Brantner with her winter yearling, Willow Grove Startrek Jill. Curtis Reichard was tapped as the grand champion fitter for the show and as the grand champion showman. The Blue Ridge FFA chapter won the Chapter Good House keeping Award. Judge Paul Wissner of Sinking Spring evaluated and ranked the youth sheep fitting and showman ship classes for the 124th Kutz town Fair. In the end, newly crowned Berks County Lamb and Wool Queen Nicole Knepp of Mohnton and Richard Kerper of Fleetwood split the top honors. Later on in the evening, Nicole went on to win first place in the sheep blocking and groom ing contest in the senior age divi sion. Competition was fierce, and there were more than young sters competing in the fitting and grooming contests.
