Correspondent TROY (Bradford Co.) “It’s good trip to come down here and see such quality animals.” said Troy Fair colored breed judge Jim Curtis as he selected the champ ions in the Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, and Jersey divisions recently. About 115 entries were led through the show ring before Cur tis selected the winners. In the Jersey show, junior 3-year-old Nobledale Juno Ver mont, owned by Nobledale Farm, captured the grand champion hon ors. Two days later following the Holstein show, she was again hon ored as she was named the supreme champion of the Troy Fair. In the reserve champion Jersey position was William Eick’s Win dy Acres Duncan Dina, the winner of the production class. The junior champion Jersey was Nobledale Dandy Juliet, a fall yearling owned by Nobledale Farms. The reserve junior champ ion Jersey was Little Pond Skyline Daisy, a winter yearling owned by Matthew Watson. Named premier breeder and pre mier exhibitor of the Jersey show was Nobledale Farms. In the Ayrshire show, 5-year old Shale Hill Champs Trina, own ed by Mark Carter took the grand champion position. In the reserve grand position was Karen Nevil- le’s Locust Lane Gumdrop Gypsy, a 4-year-old. Taking junior champion Ayr shire was Locust Lane Sailor Dumplin, a fall yearling owned by Doug and Donna Stewart, fol lowed by the reserve junior champion, Locust Lane Heligo D-J, a Fall calf owned by Karen Neville. The Stewart and Neville fami lies also secured both the premier exhibitor and premier breeder ban ners at the conclusion of the Ayr shire show. The Brown Swiss show was dominated by die Yurkanin family as senior 2-year-old Elm Brook Blend Tyra, owned by John Yurk anin Jr. was named the grand champion. The reserve grand champion was Elm Brook Trouba Paisley, a junior 2-year-old owned by Heather Yurkanin. Capturing junior champion dis tinction was John Yurkanin Jr.’s Elm Brook Pretus Tiara, a spring calf. In the reserve junior champ ion place was Amberleigh Yurka nin’s Elm Brook JPR Jasmine, a spring yearling. In a Guernsey show of one, Lucas Trowbridge’s Shale Hill Proking Tinkerbell was the winner in the spring yearling class and was also named junior champion.
