KIMBERTON (Chester Co.)
The Chester County 4-H Dairy
Roundup was held at the Kimber
ton Fair Grounds on July 22.
Three 4-H dairy clubs participated
with 105 animals being shown.
Thirty-three members showed
their animals, including 10 first
year 4-H’ers. Over 50 animals will
be going to the Southeast 4-H Dis
trict District Show at the Schuyl
kill County Fairgrounds on
August 25

County 4-H Holstein show are Crystal Kolb with her senior
and grand champion Holstein; Kevin Nolan with his reserve
grand champion; Jenn Hess with the junior champion; and
Craig Nolan with his reserve junior champion.

Strong Showing At Chester 4-H D ’

tured a grand champion award
when her senior 2-year-old, Wa
tervue Harvest Maggie, was nam
ed senior and grand champion of
the Holstein Show.

named the reserve senior a-’d
grand champion with his 4-year
old Holstein Dreamnol Leadman
Paula. Cathy Pavelski chose a
winter yearling, JAJ Cubby Har
mony, shown by Jenn Hess, Potts
town, for the junior champion of
the Holstein show. Craig Nolan,
Pottstown, was selected as the re
serve junior champion with his en
try Dreamnol Maik-O-Polo Les
lie, a fall calf.
Senior and grand champion
Ayrshire honors went to Brian
Nolan, Pottstown, with his junior
3-year-old cow. Palace Heather.
His brother, Kevin Nolan, cap
tured reserve senior and reserve
grand champion Ayrshire awards
with a 5-year-old named S & M
Ayr Mozart Pearly. The Nolan
family also had the junior winners
as Craig Nolan, Pottstown, show
ed a winter calf, Dreamnol Teddy
Bear Lindy, that was selected as
junior champion, whle his sister,
Becky Nolan, had the reserve
junior champion, .S & M Ayr
I.R.S. Opal, a spring yearling.
Everyone was again fascinated
by seeing eight Lineback dairy
animals at the show. It was also a
first for the judge and she selected
the fall calf, shown by Meredith
Baily, West Chester, named Carl
son Farms Hershey Kiss for junior
and grand champion.
Her sister, first-year member
Becky Baily, was the reserve
junior and reserve grand cham
pion with Pocopson Meadow
Merry Moon, a winter calf.
Joy Crothers, Brown Swiss and
Holstein breeder from Oxford,
judged type for the Guernseys and
the Jerseys.
In the Guernsey breed, Julie
Sollenberger, Spring City, won
twice when her 4-year-old, War
wick Manor Fayette Audrey was
named senior and grand champion
and Warwick Manor Smokey Lu
lu, her senior 2-year-old cow, was
selected the Reserve senior and
grand champion.
Audrey was the grand cham
pion for the third year in a row.
Joy Crothers chose Todd Mast,
Elverson, who showed a spring
